I Love her!

I love Judy Garland. I don't care how much of a cliche it is. She's kick ass. Her singing is kick ass, and I'm listening obsessively to the Live at Carnegie Hall album, that a certain friend gave to me, and she's hi-larious!

Also, I strongly recommend listening to the banter between her and Barbara Streisand from her variety show, talking about how much they hate one another. It's gold.

Listen to it!! LISTEN TO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments:
"you're thrilling, so absolutely thrilling, my goodness... you know we have all of your albums at home and you're so good, i... i HATE you."

"i have to... get a... sip of water. i think i... picked up an old fungi in atLAnta GEORgia or something. i'll be - i'll be back. .................................. talk to each other... or something... mill around... for a... second."

i LOVE her.

WHAT is the second quotation from?? It's even better than the first! All you many people reading my blog, the first is the start of the hate dialogue between Barbara and Judy.

Mill around....for a.....second. I think I'm actually getting looks in this internet cafe from laughing so hard!

Also, I'm a littly tipsy after drinking a half bottle of Cristal. Lordy. Thank God for getting introduced to rich people.

haha! I have an odd feeling I know who T is!!!!!!

"you know, you're so great... i've been hating you for years. in fact, it's my ambition to be great enough to be hated by as many people as you."

i actually think i mis-quoted that second one. i remembered it more clearly as i was walking away from the library in good old mckellar. it's ms garland herself talking to her carnegie hall audience. i believe it actually goes like this (and i don't think the elipses were quite achieving the lilt i was aiming for, so i think i'll try it thusly):
"i have a BIT of a FROG in my THROAT. i think i picked up an old FUNGI in atLAnta GEORgia or something. i HAVE to GET a... SIP of WAter. i'll be - i'll be back.
...
...
...
...
...
TALK to each other... or something. MILL aROUND... for a... SECOND."

it's on disc 1.

"i just got back... well, not actually just got back... i got back about three months ago... from europe. a tour... of the... continent. and i worked in paris and i'd never worked in paris before. i have a friend in paris who is... so CHIC. she's just... so CHIC. she's a darling, marvelous woman she's just so CHIC... anyways."

i think T misses judy.

by the way, it's "barbra", not "barbara".
and you call yourself a homosexual.
shame on you.

:)

How are you doing, T? are you going to start writing a blog too? It's soooooooooo deliciously self indulgent. Hehe.

Okay, noted on the spelling. I'll give disc one a listen again. I remember the paris one. With the falling hair. Oh this is so fun and insular!

However, in the duets, I must say that BARBRA says she wants to be hated by as many singers as Judy, not as many people. Wow. We're the most massive nerds on the entire planet.

I LOVE her.

whoops. i stand corrected. however it's been a little while since i've listened to either album compulsively. clearly i need to brush up.

t- I hope I never have to go to Hollywood. Look what they did to Judy!
